RADBURND CELLARS PRODUCE A BROODING BLACK BEAUTY

Some warm, dry weather after Christmas is welcomed by all and especially the team responsible for crafting Radburnd Syrah 2019. Combined with a wet spring but a long, hot autumn with cool nights, it had the perfect conditions to coax fresh acidity and a wonderful intense fruit flavour from the grapes sourced from the Bridge Pa Triangle and Roys Hill regions of Hawke’s Bay. The tasting notes describe “a brooding black-fruited syrah which is well structured with alcohol, tannin and acidity”. It has all come together under the careful stewardship of Kate Radburnd, one of New Zealand’s most highly respected winemakers. Our apologies to Kate as in our last issue we mistakenly described her as the owner and winemaker at Collaboration Wines, whereas she is, of course, owner and winemaker at Radburnd Cellars. radburndcellars.co.nz
